Tuesday, July 23, 1985 (age 13)



Today was OK. Lacey, Nadine and me went on this bike ride - my god! That trip made me SO pooped out
when we got back! Then Becky, Lacey, Nadine, Neil and me played Flashlight Tag until we got tired of
that. Then, I went in, got a candle and my Ouija board, and we played that until 11:30. We also tried to have
a séance, but that didn't work. Then I slept over Lacey's house. 1:04

Monday, July 22, 1985 (age 13)



Today I went to the orthodontist's - nothing much - all he did was say "beautiful" over and over again. Then,
Wendy called and after that, Lacey came over. The rest of the day was really boring and obnoxious
(Becky). And that's all I have to say! Good nite! 10:27

Today I found out that Bonnie Caldwell and Sam are going out. They have been since the party a few days
ago. Lacey said they won't last, because she and Nadine saw him at the diner tonight. Dahlia doesn't like me
anymore, Kelsey isn't home yet - and, no more to say. 10:08

Saturday, July 20, 1985 (age 13)



Today I broke Mom's curling iron, but we went out and got another before she got home. This dream I had
last nite was so neat! It was that Michael J. Fox came to our house in a black Impala - he was 16 and I was
15 - we had the Impala because Michael wanted an '83 purple Lamborghini, and the Impala was his father's!
Michael almost had enough to buy the car and was excited. He took me dancing and then we went to his
house. We didn't do anything serious of course! First base was good enough! 11:35

Friday, July 19, 1985 (age 13)



Today was an OK day. First, Becky, me and Mom went to CVS, where she bought me a box perm. Then,
we went to the library, where I got myself 3 books. Then, after I had lunch, Lacey, Nadine and me went to
the center of town. While we were there, we saw Wendy. I got a magazine, 2 cards, and Becky's birthday
present. Then, we went home. After dinner Nadine and me went AGAIN. This time I got a bottle of Sun-In.
Busy day! (P.S. Michael J. Fox is so fine - I have such a crush - it's a shame he's ten years older than me!)

Sun-in. The most evil product ever to hit the shelves. Every girl's plan in the 1980's was to look like the model in the ad. However, Sun-In was a nightmare on it's own, never mind after you added it to permed hair. As a brunette, my hair looked less "sun-kissed" and more like bright orange cotton candy. It's a wonder I still have hair!

Today was SO boring. I mean REALLY BORING. Today was so boring, in fact, that there's just nothing
exciting to write about. Now, that's dumb, isn't it? I know. And because it WAS so boring, there's not even
any boring things to write about! Now that's rough, isn't it? I know. In fact, today was the MOST BORING
out of all the boringest days I ever did have. Now that's pretty queer, isn't it? I KNOW! 11:52

Wednesday, July 17, 1985 (age 13)


Today Nadine came over right when General Hospital was starting. So while I was watching that, Nadine
sat out on the deck for an hour to get a suntan. Then, I let Nadine babysit Becky for 5 minutes while I went
with Lacey to these people's house to feed their kittens. Then, after dinner, Lacey came over and we didn't
do much until 10:30 when she had to go home. Now tell me if that wasn't sike enough! 10:53

Tuesday, July 16, 1985 (age 13)



Today me and Nadine woke up about 9:30. After we had breakfast, we went downstairs and watched TV
until about 11:00. We cleaned up the kitchen and then Nadine took a shower while I cleaned up my room.
After I took my shower, Becky wanted to impress Nadine so she took a bath too. Later, while we were
playing Monopoly, Sabrina called to say hi and that she saw Sam twice yesterday! I was so siked! And that
was the highlight of the day, folks! 11:20

Monday, July 15, 1985 (age 13)



Today Lacey and Nadine's telephone broke. You can hear them perfectly but they can't hear you! Anyway,
they came over, we had lunch, made brownies, and then proceeded to clean my room with me. After that
Nadine wanted to know if she could sleep over. Mom said yes, and after we watched the movie "Poison
Ivy" on TV, we went to Nadine's house for a minute. P.S. Poison Ivy features Michael J. Fox. Oh my god, I am starting to have such a crush on him! 11:32

Sunday, July 14, 1985 (age 13)


Today we got back from the Cape. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. When I got home, Lacey and Nadine
came booking out of their house to ask how the trip was and the past news from 2 weeks ago. Then we went inside and I gave them their presents, and Lacey had a ball looking through my magazine. Later, we went to their house and we didn't do much there. I wanted to go to the amusement park with them but oh no! 11:35

Saturday, July 13, 1985 (age 13)




Today was our last day here on the Cape. Boy was it  fun! Anyway, today we went on this ass-hole sort of
ride - like a "last day tour". We went to this mill store (I didn't go in), then, to this look-out point where you
can see all the boats go by (I didn't go out there either). Then we (well, Mom actually) wanted ice cream
and Becky gave Dad such a hard time that we went home. After dinner we went back for the ice cream, and
then went to the beach for about 20 minutes. Wow, huh? 9:20

Friday, July 12, 1985 (age 13)


Today we went to the movies and saw "Back to the Future" - it was so funny! It was about this boy named
Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) who travels back in time with this guy Doc's time machine in the shape of a
car. While Doc is trying to get him back from 1955 (he was accidentally put there), Marty's mom falls in
love with Marty! Marty then gets his father and mother together and then returns back to 1985
After that, Doc goes 30 years into the future, comes back and says that Marty and his girlfriend have to
come with him - it was so neat! 11:58

Thursday, July 11, 1985 (age 13)



Today we went to see how the "Cape Cod" potato chips were made. Then we went to this bookstore where
Becky bought a Garfield joke book and I got a magazine. Then we went home and (oh - almost forgot
today is Dad's birthday, me and Becky got him this "boat in a bottle") later went out to dinner. It was pretty
neat  - good food, such a nice waiter, and they even parked your car for you! After that, we went to the
Christmas Tree Shop and I got a hat and a wallet. Pretty cool day. 9:52

Wednesday, July 10, 1985 (age 13)




Today we went to this Cape of Yarmouth place (ed. note: actually called COVE of Yarmouth). It was some condos that were in the process of being built. It was this time-sharing business where you pay off all your money and you own your room - but you can only see it one week a year! That means 51 other people own that same room! Talk about really dumb! I thought that if you bought a condo it was yours for 52 weeks a year! They thought it was good - glad my parents didn't! 10:49

Today we went to Provincetown. We went to all these stores and at one I bought Kelsey a decent present. I went to this one store that was so cool - they had everything from studded belts to sunglasses. Then we went home. Nothing really happened after that except that we ate dinner and watched TV and I mean, that's no big sike huh? 10:13

Monday, July 8, 1985 (age 13)



Today was pretty interesting. First, we drove to the beach to do some fishing at 6 in the morning! (Dad, Becky and me). Then, when we got back, I was so tired that when Dad, Mom and Becky went to the beach, I stayed home and did nothing extremely important. Later, we went out to eat at this Brass Kettle place. Then we went to this shirt-shop where Becky and me both got shirts - Mom loved Becky's but couldn't stand mine. Oh well. 11:15

Sunday, July 7, 1985 (age 13)




Today we went to this flea market - it was so fresh! I mean there was all this real cool junk - I got a gold chain, a silver chain and a gold bracelet. Then we went to this candle store, but it had closed an hour before. So we had to go home. Mom and Becky are acting pretty shitty lately - like I always say - Wotta Bitch! That's "wot" they are acting like - really! 11:13

Saturday, July 6, 1985 (age 13)

Today was pretty boring. We cruised around for a while, like going to a couple of stores, etc. We went to this (place called) Christmas Tree Shop, where I got Dad his birthday present - two wooden fishing boats - and Kelsey a "message in a bottle". (I don't think I'm going to give it to her though, I may sell it to Becky). Well, that's all for today! Becky's bothering me so bye! 10:48

Friday, July 5, 1985 (age 13)



Today we went out shopping again. This time I got a stuffed horse, a puzzle sort of thing for Dahlia, an elephant-like thing for Lacey,  a shirt, and a lazy man's alarm clock. I haven't gotten Kelsey anything yet because I don't know what to get her! Oh well, I'll figure something out. 11:10

Thursday, July 4, 1985 (age 13)



Today is the Fourth of July (Hurrah!). Anyway, today we went to the beach. It was really kinda fun. We stayed for about 2 hours, and then we went home. After dinner we went out and got ice cream. Then we just rode around looking at houses. Right now I'm dying because I have a sunburn. 10:16

Wednesday, July 3, 1985 (age 13)



Today Becky got sick and Dad had to take her to the doctors. She has an ear infection. While she had to stay home all day, me and Dad went to stores, the beach, and just for little drives. It was so much fun! That was the highlight folks - well, g-night. 10:47

Today was pretty boring. We went shopping and I got a bottle of make-up. We cruised around for a while and that's all we did. The house is pitch dark and my flashlight batteries are running out so I'm signing off now! 11:11

Today we went shopping and I bought some postcards. Then we went home and walked to the beach. After that, we watched TV for a while, ate dinner, and then went to see "Goonies"! It was so cool. It was about these 4 boys and two girls who go on this adventure. There are these bad guys and they try to keep the Goonies from getting a treasure left from One-Eyed Willie. It was so cool! I want to see it again. Well, got to sleep now! 11:47

Sunday, June 30, 1985 (age 13)



Today we went to the Cape. Kelsey called and I told her that if she wanted to see me off, she would have to hurry up. She didn't make it. We brought our cat Nubby and she was so scared. She was meowing like you've never heard. It was really kind of funny. Later, after we settled in, we watched TV until now. Everyone's asleep except Becky and me and Becky's only awake because the lights are on. Night! 11:12

Saturday, June 29, 1985 (age 13)



Today was such a horrid day! First off, Mom told me to weed the WHOLE garden, and in the rain too! After that, I packed for Cape Cod and then me and Kelsey went for a walk. When we got back, Lacey called and started to yell at me for no apparent reason. We went for another walk, and then Lacey called back to apologize. I also heard from Lacey that everyone's pressuring Sam to ask out Tammy and that he may not do it. But you never know. 10:32

Friday, June 28, 1985 (age 13)



Today was Edward O's birthday (so what? As Lacey would say). Howard I and Bonnie C broke up today. They have been going out for about 2 weeks. Sabrina sounded so happy when she told me. Speaking of girlfriend/boyfriend, Lacey told me that Sam is going to ask out Tammy Gow (she also said that Tammy's liked him for about 2 years and he decided to give her a break). Oh well. Hey, why don't any of the boys *I* like give ME a break? 11:19

Thursday, June 27, 1985 (age 13)



Today we got back from Olivia's. We also went to the hospital to see Dad. He had to go in to get a tumor removed from his vocal cords. Mom said that because it was cancerous, he was too hoarse to talk.
I also called Dahlia and Kelsey - while I was talking to Kelsey, Aunt Bea called and talked to Mom for so long, she disconnected Kelsey! And by the time I could talk to her it was too late. I am much stiffer than I was yesterday. I'm swollen all over! 10:51

Wednesday, June 26, 1985 (age 13)



Today was pretty fun. This girl Daria brought her horse over and I got to ride! The horse's name is Dasher and such a pretty horse! Can you believe it? I can actually GALLOP. I was riding her and I thought she was cantering, but later Daria said that her horse doesn't canter and that it was a gallop! I was like SIKE! The bad part though was when Dasher decided she wanted to go home and I got thrown off. I think I tore a muscle somewhere - ouch! 11:13
