Today these people kept calling for "Lisa" and they wouldn't stop. We tried everything from threatening to call the police to blowing whistles into the phone. Finally Mom grounded me from the phone because I "started it". She said that they were my friends and because they were pissing her off she was going to take it out on me. Kelsey tried to help and she said I need help from Mom. 7:54

Today we called Eddie Macaskill (me and Nadine) and I told Nadine to talk because I wanted to hear Sam's voice. Sam doesn't like me to say "What up" and to shake his hand anymore. I was very upset. Then we pranked Nick, Neil and Eddie Macaskill. I pretended I was Freddy from Nightmare on Elm Street and I freaked out Lacey with my voice and the knife sound! 10:51

Today I got off from being grounded and that was the most exciting thing that happened today up until six o'clock. At that time I went with Mom to her work to do inventory. I was partners with Marcy and I think we made more mistakes than we did right things. I also met two of Marcy's friends, Kim and Tessa. They were really nice. It was pretty cool though. 10:51

Today - ohmigod you are not going to believe this - Sam said 5 words to me! OHMIGOD - count them dear children. 5. I went up to him, said "Hi Sam", shook his hand and he asked "Did you sell any grinders?" (ed. note: fundraising for band) And I said no, so he just went "Ahh!" and walked into the cafeteria. Sabrina said that he was in a really bad mood today but every time I saw him he'd say hi and wave and he was smiling every time I saw him. Don't know. 11:04

Today we had our Band concert. Really awesome let me tell you. But, that's beside the point. What IS the point is that I am doing my very, very best with Samuel and it's not working! For the whole beginning and the whole end of the concert, I tried my very hardest to start a conversation with him and the most he's said is about 9 words all together! Talk about NOT SUCCEEDING. Mom thinks he's ugly, but Becky thinks he's really "cute" (<= icky word). 9:54

Today I said my usual hi to Sam. I asked Callie how to get him and she said "Well, seeing that Bonnie literally hates him, you have nothing to worry about from her, so just talk to him. Become really good friends with him. And try real hard." That advice was really good but the thing is - to talk about WHAT? Sabrina says just to go up to him and say "WHAT UP SAM? HOW IS LIFE!" in a really silly tone. But I'm not sure that will work. 10:08

Today was OK, up to a point.  Well, we were supposed to go to this rehearsal for Band. We did, but after the rehearsal, which ended at 9:30, there was no awaiting car. We (Kelsey and me) called Mom and she said that Dad was at the High School and not the Junior High where he was supposed to be. We got a ride to the High School from Valerie, and Mom gave me hell when I got home. I can't go anywhere for 3 weeks and that includes the phone! 10:06

Today I said hi to Evan 3 times and shook hands with Sam. Lacey said she likes Sam but she doesn't think that she likes him that much because of two reasons: 1) Sam is friends with Lenny Erskine and Lenny is infatuated with Lacey, 2) I still like him. "So", I said and she said "Well, I don't think I'd go with him anyway." I was like OK! 10:01

Today was quite dull. First, we went to "Yeah-Rah" church - I wish the whole family was atheist like me! Then Nadine came over and we watched this movie Cat's Eye. It was pretty cool. That was about it except that I just was watching "Starman". I guess I'll have to see the rest tomorrow. 10:04

Today was OK. First, me, Nadine and Lacey went to give Girl Scout cookies to people. Then we watched this movie Mortuary. After that, we went and sold the rest of the cookies to people who weren't home before and I went babysitting with Nadine. We called Evan and he couldn't talk for very long because he was going someplace, but to call him later. We never did because Nadine didn't feel like talking. Bummer. 12:00

Today in Band, Maeve was talking to me about Callie's sister's clarinet when Sam walked by. I touched his shoulder and said "Hey Sam, what up" and he turned around and we smacked five. Maeve was dumbfounded. She said "Ohmigod Daphne before you were too scared to even LOOK at him!" So I said "I didn't look at him, all we did was smack five." Then me, Mom, Dad, and Becky went out to dinner. Later, I got some mascara. 10:35

Today must have been the worst day in my whole entire life! It started out when, in Band, I dropped my case, and my clarinet went flying. One piece snapped in half. Mom and Dad are making me pay for it. Like I have the money. The only good thing that happened today was in the library. Evan Grant sat with us! (Next to me even!) And Girl Scout cookies came but that isn't a big sike. 10:10

Today Dexter came home on our bus. I couldn't believe it. He wasn't taking Kelsey's bus because it was too "crowded". Then I went babysitting. The woman walks in the door at 10:10! I was like ohmigod. Well I'm socked so I'm going to sign off now. 10:37

Today there was no Band, so for 5th period we were in the lunch wave. The library wasn't open so Sam was there! I also decided that I don't like Evan anymore. Every time in study hall when I try to start a conversation with him he gives me one word answers and starts to talk to Faith Duval! Wotta pisser! I also found out Sam's locker # it's anywhere between 845 and 850. One of those! For actual number tune in tomorrow! 9:59

Today was OK. Vance got a haircut and the dude looks so cool! Serious! I have a serious doubt about Evan. I tried to start a conversation with him in study hall today and it didn't work. He just started to talk to Faith Duval. Oh well!

Someone called me today. It sounded so much like Vance Edison but they said it was Dexter and they asked for Kelsey's phone number. Queer, eh? 9:48

Today was boring. Everyone was in a really shitty mood, so after I helped take the Christmas tree down, I went next door. We didn't do much over there either, except to go to Movieland and get two movies. I saw the beginning of Vision Quest and then I had to go home. Then I talked to Sabrina for a while and guess what! I lost 6 pounds! Wow for 5 days! 10:26

Today Lacey, Kelsey and I went to this dance for catechism. It was fun because Tyler came and we were reminiscing about 8th grade. Then when we left they (Lacey and Kelsey) slept over. We watched this movie "Mischief" and that's about all except Dexter Driscoll called and said he was coming over tomorrow! I was like oh my god. But I didn't say anything because Kelsey likes him. 12:53

Today was so upsetting. First in band, Sam looked so upset with his head in his hands and everything. When he walked down the hall, he didn't walk, he sauntered, like the weight of the world was on his shoulders. Then, Tyler told Kelsey that if I hadn't been so sudden and just stuck out my hand and shook his (at the party) and said Happy New Year he would have kissed me on the cheek. I told her to tell him then that he owed me one! 10:31

Well, today is the New Year! How awesome! Today, nothing much happened except that I went to the mall with Mom and I got a pin and two pairs of earmuffs (black and white). Then when we got home I did some homework, went to Kelsey's, talked to Sabrina for like 10 minutes and today is also the official beginning of my diet. Have to get to 110 by March 15! 10:00

Oh mi gosh! New Years Eve! Well, I went to Brandy Tobler's party - EVERYONE was there! Then I found out that Beverly duffed Sam! I was like ohmigod. When we were leaving, me and Sam practically had the same coats! It's like take a big massive SIKE.
I don't know who I like now, Evan or Sam, I guess I like them both. And I'm going to try for both too! 1:34

Today we came back from Grandmother's. When we got back, Nadine and Lacey came over and Becky made this big mess all over the floor. When Mom asked who did it - she said Lacey and Nadine! I couldn't believe it. Then I went next door. We were talking about Kelsey and when Lacey got mad, Nadine said "Yeah, Kelsey talks about you too" - then Lacey started up too!

Today we went shopping. I got a pair of sunglasses, then we went to the movies. We saw "Spies Like Us" and Mom said it was boring but I liked it! It was about these two guys (Chevy Chase and Dan Akroyd) who are used as decoys in Pakistan so that the Russians will get thrown off because the U.S. is testing this new weapon. It was really funny. 11:40

Today we left to go to Grandmother's. I have now about 40 dollars, a coat (it's SO cool!), a pair of 14K gold earrings, and mascara. I'm sorry my writing is terrible but I'm in an awkward position on this bed.
It's been 2 months today that Beverly and Sam have been going together. Not that I care or anything, I just thought that I'd let you know. 11:07

Today Mom and Dad left to go to this party, so I was left to babysit Becky. Lacey and Nadine came over and we were really wild. We were throwing Mom's plastic apples all around the place and when I turned off all the lights I gave Nadine and Lacey quite a start with my "Freddy" laugh (ed. note: main character from the Nightmare on Elm Street movies). I also missed Miami Vice. They put it on at 9 instead of 10. Was I pissed! 12:44

Today was kinda dull. I got my hair cut, everyone likes it but me. I went to Weathervane and put a coat on hold. Then Aunt Bea came with three nuns to have lunch. My Christmas present from her was a scarf, two pairs of gloves, a book, and a pencil. Nadine and Lacey came over later on and we played Charades until 11. Gotta run! 11:18

CHRISTMAS! Whoa - I guess you'll be wanting to know what I got - so I'll start. Charlie perfume and dusting powder, facial cleansing lotions and stuff, a box with a horse on top, lip balm, bracelets, a wallet, a belt, socks, a shirt, two sweaters and a Charade game. What I wanted but didn't get was a walkman, gift certificates, and money. Oh, I also got candy, but that isn't important, now is it? 10:12

Well today is the day (actually, tonight is the night!) when "Santa Claus" comes! God, I can't wait until we can tell Becky that there's no such thing as St. Nick. We got to open two presents, however (they were from Olivia). I got a pair of earrings and an ornament. (Mom says probably from Germany). Becky is so excited, she thinks that she's getting a "Furskin". Those stupid bears cost $60 apiece! 10:10

Today was nothing special. Kelsey came over, I shoveled the driveway, Lacey came over and we watched Phar Lap (well, about half). But, today also was pretty awesome. The skating pond was open!!!! And I was choking so bad when I saw Evan there. Nadine said that he probably likes me, because I was asking really dumb-ass questions and he was politely answering them. Today was boring. I saw Phar Lap and Sabrina came over during the middle of it. I didn't cry because she kept staring at me waiting for me to. Then, while we were calling people like Beau and asking for "John" and "Steve", Kelsey came over. When they left, I didn't do much for the next two hours. Then Lacey and Nadine came over. After watching some television I went to their house. I went home at 9:15, watched some more TV and now here I am! 10:37

Today was dull but OK. We went to the center of town. got a few movies. I got Kelsey her present (purple mascara!) and then I made up with Nadine. It was quite easy. She actually WANTS me to like Evan - speaking of him, Lacey said that the day he gave me the flower (Dec 18) Nadine called him and asked if he likes me.
